DRAGON CAP

 April 28, 2025

My, My, it's been a while since I have posted onto this blog ... many of life's changes--good and bad--have prevented me from dallying in the bloggers' world.  And so here is posted an unusual item for me: a dragon hat!  I created this from a very large, 28" x 36",  painting of a dragon created from a combo of many references I had.  The original you will find posted on this site October 31, 2021.  The painting was a gift to my granddaughter Salem for her 10th birthday.  The dragon hat was painted for her a few years after.  But alas, she went from decorating her bedroom with unicorns, then Harry Potter which was what the dragon was for, to now "Nature Decor."  So everything's green and happy with flowers, animals and all nature-related accessories.  I have watched her metamorphosis from a child to now a teenager, beautiful inside and out.  Ah, it is good to be a grandma!

I have created many other paintings since the last previous posting, and hopefully when time permits I will begin posting regularly again.  However, my life itself has morphed from normal married life with Bob, with me creating art, gardens and enjoying it all, to widowhood, and eventually residing with my daughter Robin and Cass and their daughter Salem. Losing lost of weight also in trying to recover after such a devastating loss.  But thankfully I have art and family and nature to nurture me back to another stage of life's pleasures.  And so I am enjoying living in the beautiful house we bought together, a few miles from where I lived with Bobby, and have returned to teaching, painting, exhibiting, networking, parties--and creating a different kind of life without him. And too I have a lovely garden once again, plus four dogs including my own to enjoy.

So on with the purpose of this posting.  I loved doing this little piece.
